Duety allows you to permanently delete your account and all associated data. You can do this directly in the app or by contacting us.
Delete in the App
The quickest way to delete your account:
- Open Duety and go to Settings
- Scroll to the Account section
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm your identity by re-entering your password or signing in with Google
- Confirm the deletion
Household owners: If you are the household owner, you will be asked to transfer ownership to another member before your account is deleted. Your premium subscription will not transfer to the new owner.
Delete by Email
If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us at support@duety.app. Please send the request from the email address associated with your Duety account. We will process your request within 30 days.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account and authentication credentials
- Your profile and display name
- Chores you created and your completion history
- Photo proof images you uploaded
- Your household membership
What Data May Be Retained
Some data may be retained after account deletion:
- Anonymised analytics and crash data (collected by Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) may be retained per Google Firebase’s default retention policies
- Shared household data (chore names, schedules) that other household members still rely on may persist for active households
