These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Duety mobile application (“App”) operated by Duety App (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Accounts
To use the App, you must create an account using an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@duety.app if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
3. Households
The App allows you to create or join shared households. When you join a household, other members of that household can see the chores, completion history, and contribution data associated with the household. You are responsible for the content you add to a shared household. If you are the household owner, you are responsible for managing membership and must transfer ownership before deleting your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Upload content that is offensive, abusive, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, its servers, or any related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or the servers and networks connected to it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
- Use the App to spam, harass, or harm other users.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Duety offers a free tier and a premium subscription (“Duety Premium”). Duety Premium is available as a monthly or annual subscription and includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.
Subscriptions are billed through Google Play. By subscribing, you agree to the pricing displayed at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial period if you do not cancel beforehand.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play Store settings.
- Refunds are handled in accordance with Google Play’s refund policies.
We do not store your payment information. All transactions are processed by Google Play.
6. Free Trial
New subscribers may be eligible for a 14-day free trial of Duety Premium. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee. You may cancel the trial at any time through your Google Play Store settings.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and content, is owned by us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.
8. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of any content you create within the App, including chore names, notes, and photos. By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the App. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.
11. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the App’s Settings or by visiting the Delete Account page. Upon deletion, your account data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, without prior notice or liability.
12. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services including Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, analytics, and crash reporting) and RevenueCat (subscription management). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App or by email.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
